Ronak Ghosh
Hi, Welcome to my personal site. I am a systems/perf engineer and first-year undergraduate based somewhere between a compiler and profiler.
I spend most of my time writing Rust — databases internals, search engines, runtimes, SIMD kernels, networking, games and utility tools, — you name it, I’ve probably tried to rewrite it in Rust. I like understanding how CPUs and software work together at a basic level.
When I’m not fighting the sleep cortisol demon at 3:27 AM, I’m probably reading about x86, distributed systems, random Intel manuals, or performance engineering. I’m also working on some small side projects, or learning about yet another topic that I’ll implement from scratch for “educational purposes”.
More about my setup & me
What editor do I use?
I alternate between RustRover for heavier Rust projects, Helix for quick edits (coping with VIM), and Zed because of FOMO. I use Gruvbox Dark Medium with Fira Code Retina font.
What languages do I work with?
Mostly Rust, sometimes Python and sometimes Perl. Rust is my default for anything performance-critical or systems-level. Python when I need to glue things together quickly or do some AI & Kernels prototyping and college works. Perl…well, I kinda like it.
What operating system do I use?
Arch Linux with Omarchy by DHH. Its very nice & beautiful.
What are my PC specs?
- Laptop - ASUS TUF Gaming F16 (2026)
- CPU - Intel Core i7-14650HX
- RAM - 16 GB
- GPU - NVIDIA RTX 5060 (8 GB)
What keyboard do I use?
Kreo Swarm 75% — a solid budget full-white mechanical keyboard, been using it for almost over 1 year now.
What games do I play often?
- Battlefield 2042 — when I feel like running around & blowing things up
I play casper only - Genshin Impact — for the story, the waifus and mostly THE HIDDEN LORE
I have C1 Hutao - Beyond All Reason — big brain RTS, factory must grow
I believe in Cortex supremacy - Pokémon Showdown — competitive battling, because I never outgrew it
Gen5 OU only
What are my current projects?
- rdrive — distributed
zero-trust object storage/streaming node - hnsw-rs — generic
HNSW implementationfor nearest neighbor search - blas-rs —
openBLAS implementationfor x86-64 in Rust - hydra-sync —
async SPMClib for game dev/general utility - missile-sim — missile
guidance simulation/sandbox engine/library
What’s my long-term goal?
Build performance-critical libraries and pieces of software that could be used in scale. Short-term: get blas-rswidely used and build ML libraries around it.
Hey…Keep going 😊. Better days will surely come.
